1997 Lincoln Mark 8 reving on its own.

My Mark 8 is starting to rev up on its own. It will do this while driving or when I have it on neutral. It will idle at 1000 to 3000 RPM, lately it has been more around 2000.

Any suggestions?

radio on 97 explorer cuts on and off on its own sometimes cant even change stations or cut it on
