Hey all, new to this site and wondered if there was anyone who could try to solve my problem...

I have an 1999 Escort SE 4 door and when I am driving along I hear a noise that sounds like I am dragging a chain but when I look under and around the car I can not see anything. I never noticed it hardly till someone pointed it out but since they did, I don't know if it is just me but it seems to be getting worse, as in more annoying, any one have any ideas what it could be???

Could be a heat shield for your exhaust system. Had a converter shield rattling from an id tag that fell off inside the shield. Check to see if one of the shields is against the exhaust pipe.
