my 99 ford contour has a problem when i slightly touch the gas pedal the car acts like it wants to stall and sometimes it actually dies i have changed the plugs/wires,oil ,trans fluid and it still does it please help asap mileage is 144.588

 

You might want to check the (TPS) , throttle position sensor.

 

i have changed that just last week and the problem still exists any other suggestions i've taken it to a mechanic they charged me $150 and told me that they couldn't figure it out

 

Could you please tell us all you have done to try to resolve the problem? That way we do not have to guess as to what had been replaced or checked. Thanks

 

I've done so much warranty work on Contours, I wish I could forget it all! These cars (both engines) had many, many problems w/the MAF sensor. Pull codes, and see what the heck is going on. I could imagine anything from TPS to fuel pump/filter problems. Need a little more info.

 

i have replaced the following
fuel filter
tps
plugs/wires
i had a injector cleaning
changed the oil & trans oil
