2001 Ford Taurus Problem
Hello all, I'm hoping to solve a problem with a 2001 Ford Taurus 3.0 Code U. Check engine light initially as a misfire P301. My mother hired a mechanic to fix it. He did a tune up, a coil pack, a fuel injector, MAF, IAC Motor, even replaced manifold gaskets. Then we started to get a 171 and 174 lean codes. He redid the manifold gasket and that problem went away. He put it on a scanner what he found was that the ST and LT Fuel Trim values dropped to zero then car began running rough. He revved up the engine fuel trim values went up again then at idle back to zero and ran rough again. Also on the scanner theres a reading for fuelsys that goes from closed to open when drops to idle. Might this be a computer problem? No check engine codes are coming up right now. Please help this is going on for weeks. Its costing my mom a lot of money and nothing is helping. Fuel pressure is also good. Thank you, Frank
