My check engine light came on yesterday and my transmission acted a little sluggish on the takeoff. I took it to a repair shop today and they told me that the transmission is stuck in 3rd gear, and that I need a new transmission. Is this necessarily a mechanical problem, or could it be a problem with the computer? I only have about 86,000+ miles on it.
