Default 2011 explorer - bumper and value of buy?

hi - we are looking to purchase a 2011 explorer limited. Car is loaded with all upgrades including dvd system. Has 95k miles on it and is 14,500. There is an issue with the front bumper - looks like someone drove in to something and caused it to pop out on one side. It cannot be popped in and needs to be replaced. Dealer (Volvo dealer) will do it but then won't budge on sale price.

I'm wondering - average cost of replacing the front bumper on a 2011? Should we have them do it or wait and do it ourselves?

Finally - how does the price sound considering all the above? Worried about what the car is going to need after 100k miles... any big known repairs occurring around then?

Any service records included with it up to this point?
100k is normally s/plugs, coolant change etc. but good to know that all the regulars scheduled maintenance has been completed. Not a bad idea to have it looked over by an independent, trusted tech prior to purchase.
Any images available for the bumper damage?
If taking on the task yourselves, sometimes you can search the auto dismantlers and find a quality replacement, even the same color at times when requested.. They can run your part on a hotline search as well to source one from or within a shipable distance. If the bumper cover shows no damage, paint or surface, could be the inner structure has been damaged..
Price of the bumper/cover can be less than painting it to match.. Paint materials and labor can be fairly expensive, depending...
Or keep grinding on them for an in-house/vendor repair.. To be honest, I’m surprised it’s on a lot with any real visible damage over the norm scratch/ding....

Thanks for for the great reply! No pictures of the actually damage. It's not visible in the photos. All service has been done regularly - one owner. Carfax is clean.

Perhaps ir is just the bumper cover I am referencing. It looks as though something poked the cover by the front left headlight and the caused the cover to pop out on the side of the headlight. The plastic cover is slightly damaged where the poke has happened and bent a little which is causing misalignment of the cover and not being able to easily pop back in.

I guess my bigger concern is - is this an ok investment? Will this $14,500 car last us to 200k miles without MAJOR expensive repairs (obviously we know some will appear).

The price isn’t too bad, without knowing all it’s options,, even if at a private party value. Generally dealers sell at retail, may be that it’s been on their lot for a bit. If so,, grind a little more, never hurts....
Have you ever owned a dark/black vehicle before?

If it’s really clean, inside, out, and well service documented, and no evidence it was used for a lot off off-road (If 4x) or more so towing,, good chance as any for a good service life. But at 95,, you will be rolling up on some needed care items..
Take a look at the engine bay, and the undercarriage,, clean as well?

As noted before,, if your unsure, have a trusted tech give it the once over. Carfax only reports issues or damage that was reported. If damaged or? and not reported, it won’t be on Carfax... Someone with ‘hands on,, may pick out potential future need, or prior items that need attention.. Like prior body work,, with a trained eye,, rarely goes undetected. Not meaning a cause for alarm though..

The other thing you can do is,, take the VIN to your local Ford Service Dept with a registration or dealer approval. Have Ford run an Oassis Report per the VIN. Any warranty work done, recalls/campaigns completed will be available to you. It’s a no cost report...
