I just picked up a 73 Gran Torino Squire wagon, it currently has a 351M/400 engine. I want to put in a 429.Will the 429 bolt to the current transmission and will the original engine mounts work. Is there anything else that I need to be aware of? I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming that the current transmission will be a C6?

429 will bolt to the trans, although I think the 429 torque converter had a larger diameter pilot to crank sizing. I'd run a matched flex plate, although not sure on the 400 unit. All the incidentals may need some tweaking, exhaust, linkages, harness's, accessory drive units etc. Mounts may need some massaging..
