got her for 500 bucks, runs great with 41,784 miles.

i smell a little gas and she sometimes sputters a moment.
when i pull off the airfilter cover i can see two round holes with fuel comming out pouring into the carb. it runs fine but i have to kink the main fuel line in 1/2 to kill some of the fuel to get her to idle.

anyone seen that before,maybe she needs a new carb..
if so i wanted to find a "1 barrel" to replace the 2B-MotorCraft2100, she says its called a Carter YB-1A.

 

Dont understand why in the world you would to put a 1-bbl , on it , I dont think it would run, Any way , suggest you re-build the carb. you got . , sounds like the float neddle is hanging open , probaly a lil gum in there. you could try adding several bottles of fuel cleaner to the tank , but I dont think that wil help the immeadite problem , its very easy to re-build these CARB'S

 

maybe a inline fuel pressure regulator ? might be cheaper

 

I just rebuilt the carb on my truck. Motorcraft 2150 2 Barrel I think. Honestly it was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done and really not a lot of stuff to replace my carb was filthy. And by no means am I a mechanic. HA HA. Well good luck.
