95 SHO Inconsistent Running

Hi, all. Thanks for this forum. I have a 95 SHO Taurus with an automatic. Lately, while running it has a slight loping to it. I pulled all the injectors and had them tested and cleaned. No difference. The car also has a starting issue. After I stop the motor and restart it within about 15 minutes, sometimes it just cranks. If I turn it back off and try again, sometimes it will start, but now the tachometer doesn't work. While driving, the tach will suddenly come back to life. All the while, I will have the engine light come on intermittently. When I put my code checker to it, it can't give me any readings because it can't even do the "number of cylinders" check. Any ideas? Is this the symptoms of a crank position sensor starting to go bad? Thanks.
