Default 96 Ford Ranger

I hope someone out there can help me. My ranger failed emissions, i keep getting a code P0401, which i am told is EGR insufficiant flow, I just replaced the EGR valve, so i am told the passage is probably clogged. What is the easiest way to do this, i have also been told it could be the metal tubing running from the EGR to the exhaust, so which one is it, either way it looks like it is going to give me hell.

You might want to replace the DPFE sensor. Usually that code is caused by the sensor failing. Cleaning the EGR passages is a good thing to do. Remove the valve and clean out the passages where the EGR bolts to the intake.
