Default 97 F150 A/C problem

Hopefully I am posting this correctly, if not, please let me know. I have a 97 F150 2WD 6cyl. I have disconnected the battery to reset the actuator motors. The air blew out cold for a few seconds then back to hot air. What else can I check or do?

Hot air or outside/ambient air temp? When it blows warmer, is the A/C compressor running?

Question Update

Thanks again for viewing.

First of all, The a/c issue is with my 99 F150, not the 97. Here's what I've done.

A/C and fan controls are off.

I disconnected the battery. Waited 10 minutes. Reconnected the battery.

Turned control **** to panel, cold air, turned control to a/c, cold air, turned control to max a/c, cold air.

Turned fan control one knotch, then hot air.

Refrigerant guage reads as it is supposed to.

Please help with any ideas.

Sincerely,

dipesi
