My daughter's '98 Contour. She says her FOB stopped working.She useing the alternate button the drivers r/h kick panel to get around ignition lock out. Now she will be driveing and the lights will flash and the horn will sound repeatedly. Any thoughts where to start?

 

Ok, I was at the end of my day. I meant keyless remote and the ignition bypass pushbutton is on the drivers left hand sidewall panel. Found that our chevy remote would make the Contour'shorn honk and the electric doorlocks cycle. My daughter said that the headlights would also flash but I didn't observe that.I think I found the ignition bypass button stuck in. Pulled it out and now car does not respond to chevy remote. It's being driven to see if it happens again. My Hayes manual wiring diagrams don't seem to cover this switch. Is there an on-line resource for troubleshooting tips and wiring diagrams?
