Just want to give an update on my truck. I purchased a starter yesterday and was able to install it today and it is starting up just fine. Thanks for all the advise.

 

You should have been able to 'hear' the starter solenoid/relay click even with a bad starter.. Guessing there was no available current, but if you had heard the 'click' would have been a point to the starter... Glad its all up and run'n... Thanks for the update, and fix..

 

Always keep in mind - take a two cent piece of scratch paper and write down wire colors and positions in a quick drawing BEFORE removing any electrical wiring. Then you'll have an easy time replacing it all later (even if you forget which wire goes where). Mistakes are how we learn best sometimes (I know I've had my share).
