Default RE: 99 ZX2

The cam sensor tells the ECU the position of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft, so it can time the injector drop. If it runs better with it disconnected, does it run like it should, or just not as rough? Is the check engine light on and if so, what is the code? It could be that the engine is actually out of time one tooth and that will cause it to have no power. When you disconnect the sensor, the ECU ignores the camshaft sensor for injector drop and goes by crankshaft timing. There is no relearn for camshaft timing. There is probably another problem.
