Bad fuse socket in 2007 Grand Marquis (CV-like)
OBDII connector has been unpowered since buying car used 6 years ago. Today check engine light came on 1st time ever so I'd like to know what's up. Did a little research, OBDII and lighter are on same fuse circuit. Tried lighter. Dead. Located fuse #27, 20 amp for OBDII/lighter. Not blown. BUT... socket where fuse plugs in feels weird, soft, like pushing fuse into dead space, storage slot or plastic gap or something. Sometimes feels like blades slide into a connector if I'm lucky, but still no power to OBD/lighter. Broken socket? Can't see in there. Looked up interior/under dash fuse box 14A067A appears to be it. Discontinued, nothing on eBay. Is the fuse panel repairable, like I can run a new pigtail to the OBD and lighter, or crimp on a new fuse socket into a wire harness or something like that? Ideas welcome, thanks.
Wow, thank you. I would not have known this. For some reason the dealership I bought it from threw a 2006 user manual in the car when they had it. That would explain it. Your advice far exceeds the price of admission!
Hope its an easy fix
