bloody fanbelt problems!!!

Default bloody fanbelt problems!!!

i have an 1992 escort xr3i 1.8 16v DOHC, and im having problems fitting the fan belt, can anyone please give me advice or directions on how to fit this bloody thing!!! i get most of it on and then i run out of belt, lol!

i have reasurred that i have the right belt, so i was wondering if tehre is any specific way that it goes on, like maybe the top first or if you need to take anything off to get it on???

should be a lil sticker on the Rad. support that has a pic , of how it goes , just follow the arrow ...

Yeah, make sure you got a ratchet hooked up to the belt tensioner, and also make sure you got a persuiasion bar handy to get all you can out of the tensioner and get that belt in there...also, sometimes the alternator has a bolt that you can loosen and it will act like a belt tensioner, ie//swivel on another bolt and will increase and decrease the length of belt needed...good luck with that...and remeber, like it says on the back of the belt box..."Be sure engine is off before installing product"...hehehe
