Default Call me a dipstick but....

....I've just bought a M Reg Fiesta (I live in England) and am having problems working out where the oil is supposed to reach on the dipstick. I'm sure this is easy to work out when you know how but as a motoring novice I'd appreciate some clarification.

The dipstick looks like this:

I am presuming that the oil should reach level C but can someone tell me if this is correct and also what the other markers are for?

Thanking you in advance.

Joe

Well I would say that the C mark is LOW , the B mark is ADD 1 QUART { or the metric equiv. ) an the A is the full MARK.

that a be my guess as will. I'd drain the oil and then add the number of quarts in the manual then look at the dip stick

Are there any dots or marks on the dipstick? As long as the oil level is inbetween the 2 marks on the dipstick you are fine.

There are no markings at all, just the shape (as shown in the diagram)

It's very confusing - I do not have a manual for the car as I bought it second hand.
