Ok so I have a 01 Escape and for the last two months i keep getting this EGR value trouble code. I went to me local auto care center and used their code reader and it came up with an EGR valve error, I dont remember the trouble code. I replaced the EGR valve and soleniod, than i cleared the troule codes with the scan tool. After a few days of driving the trouble code came back. So what did i miss? I've read that some people have tried using carb cleaner to clear the vacum lines of carbon and crap, how well does this work? Is its possible that the vacum lines are leaking some where causing the problem how can i check this? thanks guys!

 

Bad DPFE sensor. Always cause EGR codes. You can find OEM sensors on EBAY at a low price. I paid $9 for the one I needed on my 00 Taurus and that included shipping.
