Default Electric supercharger

My cousin bought a crappy electric supercharger the other day, and I must say it looks like a piece of crap. There is no way these things can work, right?[/align]

They have a high amp draw (60-120+ amps)and can only run in short bursts. They cannot and were not designed for continuous running. If all works as designed, the most you would gain is about 1 PSI increase. If you want to gain HP and or mileage, just replace all of your lubricants with a good quality synthetic to reduce the robbing internal friction and drag. But use a TRUE SYNTHETIC lubricant like AMSOIL or MOBIL, not the CASTROL so-called"SYNTHETIC" dino juice.

The amp draw is overcome by a second alternator. I would like to see more companies leaning toward electric systems. They have the potential to be run constantly - if the motors were cooled enough to permit. Plus the low pressure increase is a good way to increase horsepower while decreasing the potential for a major blow up.

Only problem with running a second alternator is any potential HP gain would be lost driving the second one.

You've found ONE company that makes them. Anyhow - I guess it would make more sense to just get a bigger alternator that puts out the extra power you need. They have a lot of these on the market already to power overdone car stereos and such.
