Ive looked through several posts but nothing seems to match what i have.

I have an escort 1.8 diesel turbo 1994

I can lock from both driver and passenger, but can only unlock from passenger side.

I dont seem to have any "extra" noises from anywhere, the key turns, but nothing happens.

Ive taken door panel off and everything is connected.

I can unlock the driver door (and the rest of the car) if i put hand in and push interior lock handle.

it sounds like something is wrong with the tumbler, if everything is connected.
