Turned out to be the flexplate Hankey.

have you driven in deep waters? maybe water is stuck were it sould not be? my windstart had moisture in the main wire harness plug going into the firewall this caused me much $ b4 i found out the problem..... that cost nothing to fix.

to be safe i would disconnect the bat b4 you do any work around the engine
