I have a 2005 focus and it has been trying to cut off while going down the road the last few days. It will try to shut off but then just catch and go ahead. But yesterday while leaving a parking lot it just completely shut off. It will start right back up and go on but I ned to figure out whats wrong here. Any ideas would be appreciated.

 

i had a 2000 focus and it did almost the same thing. mine was caused by a stuck IMRC ( Intake Manifold Runner Control )motor. i just replaced it..it was about 100 bucks new.

 

Could also be ignition switch.
