ford's ecoboost engine

Any opinions on the new 3.5 v6 ecoboost and the 3.7 v6 engines? I'm thinking of getting an F-150 specifically because of the ecoboost engine.

Ford spent alot of time, money and press on the 3.5 ECOBOOST and I personally believe, they did get this one right.

3.5L ECOBOOST Specs:
365 hp (272 kW) @5500 rpm, 90% 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) @1700-5000 rpm, peak torque at 2500 rpm

3.7L Specs:
Ti-VCT 302 hp (225 kW) at 6500 rpm and 278 lb·ft (377 N·m) at 4000 rpm

Of the 2, I personally would go with the ECOBOOST. If needed, it has a lower RPM "GRUNT" and a better HP/Torque overlap.

I wish they would have had the ECOBOOST for the MKZ. Even if it was an option. I definately would have spent the extra money for it.

But as always, who knows why Ford does what they do.

please make sure your EcoBoost Engine is not included on the FAILURE list of ECOBOOST Engines that Ford has out there. You may not be affected- there are Class Action Lawsuits out there re the Failure of the EcoBoost Engine (specific sizes).
