in my 03 expedition message center it says 10.5 mpg is this correct? because i know someone who has the same truck and his says18.5 mpg do you think something is wrong with mine

 

my '01 windstar 3.8 gives me 12-13 mpg. recent tuneup,oil change, good tire inflation. why?

 

I would neverbelieve the message center. It's a selling toy on a vehicle. If I did that on my 04 Freestar Limited, I would be getting 6-14 MPG. Where in reality I get between 17-18 MPG back and forth to work (18 miles round trip and 550 foot climb in altitude from my house to the site I work at) and anywhere from 21-30 MPG on the highway depending on what speed I drive, route I take and weather conditions. These are based on actual miles devided by gallons of fuel used.
