I am a new member in this forum. I have some OEM brake pads, but I don't know their applications. Ifanyone in the forum have knowledge or some working for Ford dealercan access Ford parts number database, please help me identify those brake pads' application. See the pictures.

1: 1996 Bonded disk brake pad set.
2: 1992 Riveted disk brake pad set.

I believe they're for cars? I don't really have a good list of new car/truck model codes though. I can only help with production dating (year) and be 100 percent accurate (the years I already gave). I'd say the letter "Z" indicates that it's a brake or suspension part so you'd only have to find out about the third letters (two "A"s and one "D"). I think "A" is bigger cars and "D" is smaller cars - but I can't be positive on that part. I mostly deal in stuff up to the 80's and on back. So I can help with 1928 to 1948 cars and trucks like nobodys business if asked but 90's and up - I'm still in catchup mode there and I've not a whole lot of motivation towards learning every single thing. 80 years of it is more than enough for me. If it's that new - just ask your local dealer or email one - they should be happy to help. Parts are easier to ID through the dealer as long as they're not over 15 years old (that's when they begin to fall into my area of work).

1 is: 1996 oil or grease seal. Used somewhere in the
drive train/suspension.
2 is: 1981 oil or grease seal. Used basically the same.

The decipher for any part is like this:
C9AE-6049-G
C is the decade in the year C='60 (1960) (D='70 ,etc.)
9 is the ninth year of the decade C is 1960+ 9 means :1969
A means it came on a big ford car
E is the Ford Factory department E= engine engineering
(B= body , etc.)
6049 is the main part type number 6049= cylinder heads
G is the letter indicating difference or change from the original part for example if the original part were "A" this "G" part will be different (though may or may not be changed much from the "A" part). Thereby a cylinder head (or 6049) with a G as the last letter may have different qualities/shapes than one with an A as the last letterbut will always match another G. When they run out of alphabet for indicating change/difference they go to AA, GG, etc.
Thereby a head with a G may not match one with a GG.
If the heritage continues you shouldbe seeing G as the first letter in year 2000 part numbers and H in 2010? I lost track at the change of the century - so I'm not too positive but itWOULD definitely still work like this. Does it??????
