Default Help Wanted

My 95 ford aspire has a broken timing belt and I already took off the covers, the pulleys and everything but now im stuck due to the fact that under the two pulleys is another piece thats covering the crankshaft sprocket how do i get this out of the way so that i can install the new belt. I cant budge it at all if its supposed to just slide off its stuck. ANY help would be appriciated. Thanks

There should be a little room to slide the belt around the crankshaft gear. The cover does not need to be removed to install the belt. If it is the balancer assembly that is in the way, here is a picture of how it comes off.
