How do you repin a wire at the PCM connector?
Here's my original thread:
https://www.fordforum.com/forum/ford-econoline-e-series-18/99-ford-e150-error-p1409%3B-engine-randomly-runs-rough-stalls-low-power-pls-help-21076/
I traced the EVR code P1409 to a loose connection at the PCM by checking the ohms for pin 47. It ended up being bad just at the PCM connector on the wiring harness. Just by playing with it I got it to work, but it seems to have come loose again. I popped the red side cover off on the PCM connector, but the wires won't slide out. I think I might have to pull the blue cover on the wire side up, but sliding it over 90+ wires is a pain in the ***.
How are you supposed to do this?

Thanks for confirming way2gold! It's comforting knowing I'm on the right track - but wow. With this many wires and this must friction it's going to be a pain. I'm going to try lots of soap & water for lubrication.
Any tricks? Also once I slide it out do I need to worry about all of the wires coming out, or how to make sure the connection is solid? I'll update this thread if I figure it out.

If you have the tools, or the patience, you can "pick the little lock" on the metal connection and remove the wire by pulling it out. Remove the front faceplate and disengage the lock. Not sure if it is round or has a little lick on one side. You may not need to remove the covers completely on the back of the connection.
