Default Injector depth Transit 2.0 tdci

I have a injector depth problem.
I had to fit another cylinder head on to my transit 2.0 tdci 2006 due to a crack on the old one.
I carefully checked that the two cylinder heads were the same and they was, until I had mounted it and was almost done.
Then I realised that the injectors was not tight even after I had tighten them to the right torque.

So I checked the internet and apparently there are 2 TYPES OF CYLINDER HEAD
DEPENDS ON INJECTOR DEPTH
EG-- 49mm OR 57mm !!

Man I almost went insane , It appears that my old cylinder head has 49mm injector depth and the new one has 57mm.

So the injectors do not fit.

Here comes the important questions:

1. Do I need a new cylinder head and do all the work over again or can I just buy the right injectors? ( I`m shaking )

2. Can anybody perhaps provide a link (ebay) to where I can buy the right ones?

3. Why are there different sizes?

I appreciate if you would answer me

First , I do not know the exact answer to your question, but this is what I would do.
Call a Ford dealer parts dept and give them the info for your vehicle and see if it might have had an optional power package available.
The parts dept should be able to tell you which engines took which size injectors and just maybe help you decide which path to follow. It is only a matter of a phone call or two and it would answer a lot of questions . Maybe with different injectors you might obtain a unexpected benefit, you never know. At least it should lay out some possible alternatives. Let's hope it can be resolved without a lot of additional work.

Thank you for answering.
Yes, I was planning to contact a Ford mechanic but I tried here first in case someone had a quick answer so I could continue working on the car yesterday evening.

The different sizes are basically build cost issues
You have to be aware of this or buy the right size injectors afterwards.

You can also fit 8mm copper discs on to the injectors as many as you need to tighten them but the tip of the injector must be 20mm long.
