oil inside the car

Default oil inside the car

I have a 1995 escort sw and had the speedo meter cable replace a few years back and now I'm geting oil dripping off the cable on to the pedals any idea how to fix it

I'm only guessing at this. I've never seen a cable with oil in it. If its transmission oil then i'd guess its being pushed up the cable due to the seal in the transmission around the point where it screws onto the tranny has failed.
