P1234 trouble code
I have a 2000 ford escort ZX2 and have replaced the fuel pump and fileter and will be driving down freeway and all of a sudden it seems like no fuel to engine and it will shut down it might start right back up but. the fuel pump does seem to turn on but but I can remove the fuel line and turn they key to on position and fuel will splash out .

If your fuel pressure tests to be within range I would be inclined to believe a problem with either a short in the IFS (Inertia fuel shutoff switch) or a broken solder joint to the fuel pump relay in the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module): just the right vibration or bump and no fuel.
There are other causes but these would me my first points of investigation after fuel pressure test. I am sure others would start elsewhere.
Just a note. I have a taken new fuel pump from the box and it had only 8 PSI

I think I would start off by diagnosing the p1234 (which means the fuel supply system is offline; it's being commanded that way by the PCM because it's not seeing the feedback signal from the fuel pump driver module). Clear the code and attempt to restart; if it resets, then look at the inertia switch and fuse in the underhood fusebox. If good (when these blow, it's a sign the pump is done), then check the connector on the FPDM (in the left side of trunck, behind the covers). Check for corrosion and make sure all is tight.
THere is a quick way of scanning PID data to diagnose this, but if you don't have a scanner, it's not very useful
