Default recurring rough idle

RANGER 2002 3.0

On start up, my ranger missed , ran rough . the oil gauge was flicking up and down madly ..The "check gage,to warn about low fuel " light was on . ( tank was full)
I turned it off , restarted it , it was fine afterwards ..

this happeneda few times .. I replaced battery terminal ( neg corroded)it stopped .. then... happening again ,, I replaced fuel filter .. it stopped doing it .. then started happening again . replaced filter AGAIN it stopped again ,,, then a week later it happened again .. then , all was well .

NOW , After ALL this winter of ZERO problems .... It is doign the SAME THING again .. rough idle etc , 3 days in a row . If I shut it off and restart it form 1 to 6 times it will straighten out .. OR if I keep it from stalling (keeping foot on gas and brake at same time while in gear at idle ) and then just drive down road , it will straighten out and be fine by the next light !
I THINK I could hear a periodic click on the drivers side while drivign it that way which sort of mimicked AC kicking on and off but was not AC ..( Im almost sure could hear that)

It does not make a difference whether it is first start of the day or warm after running errands it can happen anytime .

The engine light does not come on ... ONLY the " check gage" ( low fuel ) light comes on .. And it may happen at ANY fuel level .

You might have a questionable ground connection. You might also check any and all ground connections you can find . Questionable ground connections are responsible for many gremlins.
