hi, I have a 97 explorer my code was on the control box that controls the doors. You can call your ford dealer and find out for sure. mine was located inside the driverside side rear panel. thats what I look for it's on the side of the unit. Ford told me the numbers can be changed So if thats the problem the ford dealer can for a fee hook it up on their computer and get your number. good luck
