Default shift interlock problem

I don't know if it has been brought up, Im new here!! I have a 2003 f250 superduty. Now every now and then and starting to happen more often, the shift lock will not release when stepping on the brake, The brakes lights are operating fine. when this happens i perform a combination of things like pumping the brake and wiggling the shifter. sometimes usually when it's cold in the morning it works fine but after drivien for a short distance 1 to 5 miles, it starts to get stuck. is it the solenoid going bad or what. any help would be greatly welcome.....
