shift position indicator

Default shift position indicator

my wifes 2000 ford ranger shift position indicator has moved off their letters is something i can fix or is it a dealer fix

If its what I think it, just pop it off and glue it straight.

Are you saying the lil needle pointer "THINGY" has popped off ??If so I know on the older trucks you had to get the assy . from the dealer , as it was a lil cable an spring set-up they were cheap like $30,00 I think,,,,,,,HAHAHA I SAID THINGY !!!!

check underneath the dash on the steering column from the pointer in the dash is connected to a wire and connected to a plastic clip make sure that is ok and it is adjustable

Hockey is right.it's a plastic clip with a retainer screw. Move it until the indicator lines back up.
My old 1985 Grand Marquis did the same thing. Once it was in place, I used epoxy to keep it there.
