Can anyone tell me how to replace the shift shaft seal on a C4 trans in a 73 Torino? Thanks.

 

[sm=welcomesign.gif]If you do this do it on level land.[hr]Use the emergency brake and chock the wheel's.[hr]Car can pop out of gear.[hr]If it has a nut on the outside of the shaft you will have to remove the nut to get to the seal.[hr]Then use a seal removal tool to remove it.[hr]Then lube the inside of seal and tap it in very gently.I[hr]f the shaft has no nut on the outside of shaft the trans has to be partaly disasembaled to replace this seal.
