sparkplug stuck

Unhappy sparkplug stuck
My dad has a 2005 ford f150 w/a 5.4L and the bottom part of the spark plug broke off inside the engine(the threaded part and top of the plug came out) does any one have any idea how the get it out

Napa sells a tool to retrieve that portion of the plug from the head. IIRC it is fairly expensive. This is a very common problem and needs a much more simple solution IMO.
