Default Taurus to Ranger 3.0 vulcan swap

I am attempting to put an '02 Taurus 3.0 vulcan motor in my '99 Ranger. I stripped the motor down to the long block and changed the head gaskets to the correct rwd gaskets and reinstalled all my '99 Ranger stuff on the motor. Everything fit perfectly and I was just putting the finishing touches on when I ran into a problem:

The flywheel from my '99 Ranger doesn't look like it will bolt up to the '02 Taurus motor. I'm going to try it again as the spacing between the holes is ever so different hole to hole. It is so close I can't believe that it won't fit.

Input from anyone who has done a Taurus to Ranger 3.0 vulcan swap? I did a LOT of research on this and thought that the only differnce on the long block was the head gaskets. The Taurus used the same flywheel from '95-'04, and the Ranger used the same flywheel from '93-'04 so anyone who has swapped a motor from from virtually any late model Taurus to any Late model Ranger will have seen this problem. Can I just drill the holes out to be a little larger?

Keep turning the flywheel til the holes line up. It's set up so that it only bolts to the crank in one position. If that doesn't help then I don't know what to tell ya.

Good luck
