Default Transmission/Torque Converter Problem

I have a 429 motor(block id number of c9ve-b, intake number of DGVE-9425, to help identify the motor). My problem is that the torque converter has a 1.385" shaft out of it to go into the crank, and is still to large. I have been told of the two different sizes and am aware of this but , the torque converter i have with the smaller diameter won't fit. Looking hard at the crank, am not able to see any kind of bushing. The crank hole is just to small.
