Default Trick to keeping gasket on?

I really don't see why this is so hard. I'm going to install new gasket on part in picture but the seal/gasket rolls right off when pressing it in place. Any kind of glue I can use?

It is only keeping air in as far as I know. Tube goes into intake manifold then egr connects to it.

lube it...dishsoap/water solution works....small film of engine oil on the o-ring would work also. Old o-ring is probably swollen...If lube doesn't work, you need a new one.

Default Old ring.

The old ring is completely flat and lets carb cleaner in. New fel pro gasket/seal is kinda big and won't fit. Going to see if the dealer one is any smaller tomorrow.

Default OEM for the win!

Got OEM O-ring. Smaller than fel-pro, covered in graphite. Fit right on snug and did not roll off when pushing part back in.
