Hello everyone, I’ve been researching this until my brain feels fried, and I may have missed a thread that already covers it. My main question is: will a canned tune work with a deleted EGR cooler? For example, if you’ve done an EGR delete, will something like an SCT X4 still flash properly?
I don’t have a CEL or any codes, but before I spend $400 on a tuner I want to be sure it will actually tune the truck as it sits. I’ve seen mixed info on this, so I’m hoping someone can clarify. For context, it’s a 2004 Excursion 6.0 with KDD o‑ringed heads, blue spring kit, new factory turbo, new OEM oil cooler, new ICP and IPR sensors, 4" turbo‑back MBRP exhaust, coolant filtration system, Mishimoto radiator, and an Insight CTS3.
Would an egr delete tuning kit be the smarter route here, or will a canned tuner handle it fine? Thanks in advance
