Warranty On Ford Focus 2009
Depends on what your actual modification is. Is it an aftermarket BOLT ON/PLUG IN modification? If so, then your warranty normally will not be affected (MAGNASON/MOSS ACT). If you're talking about something like shaving the head down and then feeding the engine NOS for traffic light jumping, then you're on your own. Normally if the modification is reversable, then your warranty will pretty much stay in place unless you do a lot of broadcasting about it and the Dealership get wind of it. Also, modifying your engine doesn't void the warranty on your hubs, tranny, wiper moter, blower fan A/C, radio and so on...
The burden of proof for the cause of a failure falls on the MFG.
An example would be, I buy a new Ford and drive it for 4 years and 362 days and 49,490 miles, never changed the oil/filter, just added as needed and the engine's crank bearings fall apart. Ford just can't say that they won't cover the repair because I didn't maintain the engine per their recommendation (key word here is recommendation, NOT requirement). The burden of proof that me not changing the oil caused the failure falls on FORD to prove.
