The stock air filter box broke, and I couldn't find any others. I made a friend at a local tuning shop, so I picked up an aluminum adapter and filter for a song. I had some gasket material handy, so I did the following. Please excuse the bed sheets.



What's a popular way to insulate the filter from hot engine air? Also, can I give it more cold air as is, or so I need some other ducting?

 

What about a box enclosure around the air cleaner that close's up against or closeto the underside of the hood, with the cold air intake inlet out the front or side/inner fender area.. Got a 'bunch' of old S/D air cleaner boxes from the retrofit to the dual core units

 

I'll try something with cardboard just to get the shape set up. What do you think should be used to make the box?
