Having problems with my 04 freestar shifting. Well driving down the road to tranny light starts flashing and it will not shift into overdrive nore first when u stop. Can disconnect the battery for an hour and it will take a day or two for this to happen again. I changed fluid and filter when i changed a striped converter. Any suggestions too what the problem may b

 

Just one: you should have overhauled it when it was out for the t/c replacement. This is most likely caused by any number of bugaboo's these trannys had. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but this sounds like the very best place to start is with a code scan and go from there. If it sets an incorrect gear ratio code, it's best to disasemble and repair.
