I rebuilt my motor and have been dealing with problems ever since the latest and most annoying is popping noise coming from driver's side of engine only when in gear and is only present from 1000rpm to 2500rpm. The truck also has no power.

Second issue is the 4wd light never comes on but the front shaft always turns. The rear abs light is on if that has anything to do with it. I really don't know anything about electric 4wd system.

Third problem is i need a vacuum diagram for this truck. It is a 87 5.0l VIN code N with an AOD tranny. cruise control the whole nine yards it is an EB edition.

 

sounds like the "popping" may be caused by a colapsed lifter, bent pushrod, or overtightened rocker arm...a compression test should be done, this will help narrow things down a little

 

that is what i was scared of. the rocker arms seems to be the problem. the only thing on the engine that was not done per spec on torque. any ideas about where to find the vacuum diagram? I know the lines are all messed up I may have a few in the right place by luck.

 

also check firing order for your year and cid engine,they are not the same.
