Default 1987 ford crown vic

hi every one.....i have a story about a ford that i feel i owe the car to tell as dumb as that sounds....i lived in the state of vermont right on the canadian border...i bought the car off a freind for the sum off 500 dollers becouse it had rotted out weel wells and the bottem crome panels had fallen off due to the rot that all cars get up north and need brakes and other things, but i had bought the car becouse i needed somthing that would pull a big trailer full of my family things safely 4200 miles across the us to lasvegas nv,from vermont....well i got the car home and did bondo and metal work to the body, gave it a quick spray job,a decent tune up(replaced all filters and wires, plugs, tranny filter flush tranny and radiator, welded a hitch and ball on the back wired the lights then put heavier springs in rear,Then put a much bigger than that car ever was intended to pull trailer.and drove it accross the us 4200 miles with me my wife and 1 of my sons 2 dogs and a cat(lol never do that again)and drove 4200 miles accross the us to vegas, with the ball so low to the ground that the nut was 40% shaved off when we got to lasvegas NV.never a problem...lived out here for 2 years and drove that car that spent its whole life in a cool 2 cold climiate to a verry hot hot climiate and she never died...ALWAYS started and got us home...the alt. died and my wife still got home....other than that tune up i did in vermont i never did another repair to it again....19000 miles...i know that isnt much but let me explain....that includes never changing the oil(had a leak after awhile and added a quart every 1000 miles so figured to hck with it)....anyways i finaly got my credit repaired and got a newer car....and sold the old ford to a person today.(hell yea bought another ford 2001 exlorer sport)...car had been sitting for 6 weeks not touched then went out to show it and she started right up no dry motor knock or nothing....when the person drove off it was like watchin a family member leave....i know its stupid but that was THE MOST reliable car i ever had....and yes i have had alot of cars...older and newer.(and repaired alot 2)..going to miss that car....anyways the 1987 ford crown vic lx with the 302 fl inj. is prob. in my opinion one of the best cars ford put out during those years(80'S erra)....thnx for reading...and if your the person that bought my car...tell her i miss her for me.....

Welcome to the site...

Sounds like an adventure...Driven across the states a few times myself, sure is a lot of real estate out there!.. Yeah, they were pretty solid platforms..
