Default 2000 ford explorer xls

i been noticing that if I brake while hiting a bump or crack my abs kicks in. Could someone tell me why and could this be a bigger issue?

Two possibles could be , loose poor connection at one of the front wheel speed sensors or worn wheel bearing allowing signal to drop out giving false indication of wheel locking up.

Thanks Hanky. It was the abs sensor
