I really need help with dpf filter issues with my 6.4 power stroke. Can I drill out dpf filter and it still work properly and fool computer that everything is there any advice and input would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Micheal welcome on a board. You'd have to be able to look at exactly how the logic code is written in the computer to know how that would affect it. Drilling holes will cause the rest of the filter to plug up, and never allow it to regenerate. The airflow will go through the drilled holes but there will be soot that gets trapped by the filter. If you don't have enough holes, you'll build excessive backpressure.
I would not suggest drilling into the filter because of what Shay_Fox said, you will not fool the computer and you may end up causing more issues. Also, if your state performs emissions checks then your vehicle will probably fail... If you do end up needing the filters there are two versions so just make sure that you get the correct one. The narrow frame chassis cab truck requires part number 9C3Z-5H221-A (#9C3Z5H221A: Exhaust Pipe) and the wide frame pickup cab requires part number 9C3Z-5H221-B (#9C3Z5H221B: Filter). There are remanufactured filters available but they are designed for vehicles with more than 120k miles. Those filters are 7C3Z-5V221-BRM for the pickup cab and 7C3Z-5V221-ARM for the chassis cab.
