I have a 2011 fusion sport with t trans you can shirt "manually". I rarely do that but have a 20 yr old son who likes to shift it.... anybody have an opinion as to whether this is a good idea??? ... I know it's got the step-up/down shifter thingie but it's still an automatic in reality and doesn't seem like a good idea to me.....thanks.

 

Up to an extent it won't cause any damage to the car as far as the shift is considered..The thing is people of yours son age tend to prefer manual tanny as it brings exhilaration and thrill. So if your son is a regular driver than i'd suggest you to convert the auto to the manual.

 

thanks for the update but he has his own car (manual) and rarely drives mine....i'm just a little concerned about him playing manual w. mine...
