Default 2014 Ford F150 XL RWD Supercrew Longbed in the winter

I have had this truck for a little over a year with one winter and was curious if anybody else has used this truck in a northern/snowy area. It's the V6 engine twin turbo but RWD only. The last year I was driving with brand new all season tires and still would slip constantly and when I would stop at lights I would start to slide to the side and fish tail right away. I did attempt to add weight in the back around 600lbs. Would it be better to get studded tires on the rear or a different weight in the truck bed? I had them right over the wheel hubs assumed that was the best spot.
