I recently tore off my GPS antenna on a 2017 Ford Explorer. The body shop and Ford Dealership have gone through 3 new antennas and none worked. We finally figured out that when they took off the cover of the GPS antenna to paint (first thing they did) somehow it didn't work without the cover and when they put it back together it didn't work. When they installed one they took off a new 2017 on the lot it worked! So if anyone ever goes through this tell them not to take cover off just paint it with the cover still attached!
